So, here it is. The first post of many in this Vent-O-Gram Blog. Frankly, it is difficult to know where to begin. Perhaps I should begin with 'why the name?' Well, using the old Vent-O-Gram name for me is really a point of nostalgia. Plus, as we move through the times I am going to be posting many articles and interviews that were originally published in the Vent-O-Gram's from 1963 and beyond. So, as I mentioned in the 'about' section of this blog, the name is really a tip of the hat to Walt and Greg Berlin, the original publishers of the Vent-O-Gram.
I have often read through some of those Vent-O-grams from the past and realized what a wealth of information those little mimeographed issues contained. Most contributors have now passed, but their words live on. I think it is important to remember those who have gone before us. And so, we will delve into that history. But, it is also important to know where our craft is today. It is my hope as time goes on to provide you with interviews of many of today's working ventriloquists as well.
And so dear reader, (to use an archaic term) read on and hopefully enjoy. Don't forget to subscribe to this blog with your email so that you may be notified of new posts.
Until then, Salute! D
